The Lion King's 'Fierce Song'- An Inspirational Poem (Dedicated to Dr Daisaku Ikeda, on his birthday)   Life chooses the teacher, life chooses the lesson, No option here of science or history. No choice but to be an obedient student, & Just play my role assigned in the story. Life told, ''What cannot be cured must be endured.'' And if it has to be endured, then better do it cheerfully. Life is the supreme umpire, the bowler and the fielder too, You, a mere batsman, with hawks around, so play skillfully. Life is no less than Maugham's stories with surprises galore, And those turns & U turns and unexpected endings. You often don't get what's your very right, your due, Yet you get a miracle too... in life's twists and bendings. When you plan, you can hear God saying 'Ho-Ho'. When you don't, its guilt embedded in brain's wire. Life sometimes behaves like that ruthless ringmaster, And humbles you li...

Click here to add this blog to your feed (subscribe to Blog)  The Drama of Life "Whenever I encounter a trial or a obstacle, I just regard it as another of life's dramas and I face it head on. We are all the protagonists in the drama of our own lives so we may as well play our role as the hero to the fullest. Its especially important for the young people to have this attitude. There are joyous days and times of suffering. Sometimes unpleasant things occur. But that's what makes life so interesting. The dramas we encounter are part and parcel of being human. If we experienced no change or drama in our lives, if nothing unexpected ever happened, we would merely be like automatons, our lives unbearably monotonous and dull. Therefore, please develop a strong self...

“As human beings we clearly remember what we have done for others, but we tend to forget easily what others have done for us. When you try to become the kind of person who never forgets the favors extended to you by others you will deepen and expand your capacity as a human being.” Dr Daisaku Ikeda We all are struggling and suffering in our unique ways, though we can always look at them as opportunities for learning and growth. Thanks to  Sensei (teacher) Ikeda my attitude towards suffering has changed. He says, “No matter where we go, we cannot escape from the sufferings that are part and parcel of life. If we cannot avoid these sufferings, then our only choice is to overcome them. And since we have no choice but to overcome them, then we might as well live joyfully and vigorously while doing so.” 2007 was a landmark year in my life as I was introduced to Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism and found my mentor Dr Daisaku Ikeda, Soka Gakkai International, Japan The foundation of perma...
