Larry Easto : Good question. Are You Coachable?

You Are Stuck. You Want Help. Yet, 'Are You Coachable?' A Guest Post on Coachability by Rory Kelly Connor Recently, I was contacted via email for coaching support by a woman (let’s call her Sue) stuck in a job she loathed. Working for an international corporation with numerous locations and subsidiaries, Sue had moved around within the corporate framework, most recently taking a position out-of-state that required her to commute home on weekends. The new position was achingly dull and provided none of the career opportunities and challenges she longed to tackle. Combined with the bi-state living situation, her pain level was almost at the breaking point. Sue was stuck and needed help. As is protocol, I scheduled a time to speak with Sue directly by Skype/phone during the following week. I also sent her a short list of questions to answer which would help provide more information for that discussion. I also asked that she send me ...

Interview with Mr Miles Kierson, Management Consultant & Executive Coach

1)    Tell us something about your book “The Transformational Power of Executive Team Alignment” I wrote the book a few years ago because, for one thing, prospective clients were asking me if there was anything written about what I do, and there wasn’t, so I wrote it. It is not a how-to book; rather, it is a “why-to” and “what’s-it-like”, and kind of an eye-opener. The other reason I wrote it is that the executive team alignment process is an amazing process that delivers something really special to clients (what one CEO told me is that every CEO wants it): it transforms what has been really just a group of people into a powerful team that is driving the fulfillment of the future of the business; it is the only way you can get a team aligned – that is, committed to pulling in the same direction – with the capability of sustaining alignment; it delivers or re-confirms a compelling vision which the team is committed to fulfilling; everybody knows the part they play; the t...

Many people believe the key to their success can be easily found in one simple answer. They spend their time chasing rainbows, looking for the Holy Grail, feeling certain there is a missing piece needing to be found. Millions of dollars a year are made by “experts” professing they have found this proverbial key to success. Scan the bookstore and you’ll find books on how to dress for success, how to become a millionaire, how to take your business global, how to …….? If it were really this easy, shouldn’t one manual cover everyone’s path to success? Really, what all these experts are telling you is how they individually found their own way. Yes, these books can inspire and lend ideas, but really our job is to marry our individuality to our success. Each one of us has our own strengths, passions, skills, talents, and behaviors that are uniquely ours. Instead of looking outward for that quick fix, go inward. Discover your own uniqueness, then explore how it can work for you. In other words...
