Hug and Nudge-Two Answers to One Question (Vol VI) Sometimes a warm hug is the answer to our question  and sometimes a gentle nudge is the answer. 'Hug and Nudge' is a fortnightly column with two different perspectives from two different continents and cultures on the same question in personal development area viz.  Jennifer Sertl (based in New York, USA) and Dr Amit Nagpal (based in New Delhi, India). Question-How does reflection improve the performance of an organization?  A Great Question by Dr Prashant Gupta, Pathologist,  http://kcprashantpathlab.in/ Jennifer Sertl's Answer “Reflection” in a vacuum can be dangerous. I’d like to frame this question in a bigger context. What does your organization need in order to see and interpret all the macro shifts while ensuring that choices that are made at tactical level are made with the highest level intelligence possible? The bridge between strategy and execution is one that most organizat...

Mega Success Through Storytelling

Are you getting ready with your story? It is not only important to tell a good-inspiring story, but, it is crucial to tell it at the right time. 1) When the struggle has become a victory. 2) When you have developed an emotional connect with the audience. 3) When God has added enough drama to make it interesting. Keep writing the incidents/anecdotes, compile your struggles and successes, and, When the Time is ripe, the Story appears!!! My previous post entitled, " Mega Success Through Storytelling on Social Media " got a tremendous response, and I decided to come up with s sequel (compilation of my other stories). Earlier, storytelling was possible only through films (and other mass media), which was unaffordable/expensive for individuals and small businesses. But the easy availability of social media has given the opportunity to individuals and SMEs to share their stories (or stories of brands and companies) and get easy attention...

How Introverts like Guy Kawasaki & Pete Cashmore are changing the rules of the game with Online Branding?

18th January, 2013 And how a book changed my life forever? Caution-Nobody is a complete extrovert or introvert. These are tendencies and we all are on different points of the scale. We have lived in a world which worships the ‘Extrovert’ and pushes the ‘Introvert’ to become an extrovert, to get success. As 'The New York Times' bestselling author Susan Cain says, “Introversion along with its cousins sensitivity, seriousness and shyness is now a second class personality trait.” But many of us have not even realised the world has changed. The credit for this goes to Social Media (aka Facebook, Linkedin Twitter and others), which arrived around 2006. Social Media gives an opportunity to introverts to express themselves from the computer (later they can come out in the open to express their passions.) Sometime back, Raja Choudhury, well known Digital Filmmaker-Director & Founder, Universal Quest & C3CUBE Multimedia, recommended me to read The New York Time...

" On one hand my Spiritual Journey has made me realise that Happiness lies beyond material possessions.  Yet, somehow since finding my true Inner Self, have lost the drive that's necessary for progress in the conventional sense. How do I find the right balance? " A Great Question by Vijay Nallawalla www.vijaynallawala.co.in ----------------------------- Jennifer Sertl's Answer So, how much is enough and where lies the balance? No person has the right to tell you what is or should be your personal threshold for ...

Mega Success Through Storytelling on Social Media

Be the Hero to the Fullest " Whenever I encounter a trial or a obstacle, I just regard it as another of life's dramas and I face it head on.  We are all the protagonists in the drama of our own lives so we may as well play our role as the hero to the fullest. Its especially important for the young people to have this attitude. If we react to everything that happens with surprise, panic, complaint and sadness, we can't be a hero. We will just end up ruining the whole drama ." Dr Daisaku Ikeda Storytelling is a powerful tool, which inspires the audience and builds the reputation/brand of the storyteller too. You can share your own stories, how you helped a client and so on.  Stories can take several forms. It can be a series of novels, biography/autobiography/novel, 1-2 pages stories or one paragraph and one liner stories.   Here are some interesting stories I have written (Please keep in mind that I have written these stories over the past two years):...
