The Power of Storytelling-Ebook

Image
Click here to add this blog to your feed (subscribe to Blog) And One Fine Day-The Power of Storytelling I decided to conduct a Story Blogathon in May 2013 to demonstrate the power of storytelling in general and storytelling for personal branding in particular. The stories received were highly inspiring, shared the hearts of the contributors and I felt the need to compile them into an e-book. 20 entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs from across the world, share their stories of struggles and victories, how they learnt an important lesson of life or how they used social media and personal branding for business/career growth.  The Power of Storytelling Recently I was asked to introduce myself at an event and I told, “As a child I was fond of storytelling and as a student, I was passionate about branding. And one fine day, I realised that storytelling is the most powerful branding tool, be it people, products or companies.” OMG, even while introducing myself, I was te...

You have been working on it a long time, getting it ready. You have nurtured and grown it into a real live entity. You know its parts, its arms and legs, intimately. You have prepared a room for it in your life. You have picked out a name and told people it will be deliver...

3E Story Blogathon: Week 1 Preview

Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to  subscribe to the RSS feed for updates. Why a Story Blogathon? Recently I was asked to introduce myself at an event and I told, “ As a child I was fond of storytelling and as a student, I was passionate about branding. And one fine day, I realised that storytelling is the most powerful branding tool, be it people, products or companies.” OMG, even while introducing myself, I was telling a story. Stories were probably always in my blood. Though right from the beginning of my personal branding journey, I was doing storytelling (unconsciously, without realizing its power), of late I have become a consciously passionate storyteller. Stories can be told in a single line and anecdote or can take the shape of a novel or even a series. Stories stay in our mind or memory and also help us attract more customers . And as Maya Angelou rightly says, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” But...

You Want Results? Identify Your True Intentions.

Image
A Guest Post on Results & Intentions by Rory Kelly Connor Results! I want results! It’s all about results! Sound familiar? Of course it does. It’s what businesses focus on. It’s how we measure progress. It’s how we track effectiveness. Results are want we want. Results signify power. If you aren’t getting the results you set out to achieve, you are ineffectual, static, weak. Right? In business, yes, that’s often right. It means the strategy is flawed, someone is not doing the work, they don’t know how to make it happen, they are operating from fear, they aren’t bold enough, they underestimated the market, they take no for an answer…and the list goes on. I’ve been in business serving clients around the world - including companies of all sizes and individuals from numerous backgrounds - to know how to get results. I know what works and what doesn’t. I am all about solutions and results. And what I also know is this – when the results aren’t happening, something ...

Interference: Goals, Growth and God

Image
A Guest Post on Interference by Rory Kelly Connor Have you ever had someone walk into a room and the tension level rises to the point of uncomfortable anxiety? Where “you could cut the tension with a knife?” Or when you suddenly catch a stranger’s eye and are overcome with sexual frisson. I know you know what I mean. It’s palpable, the shift in energy from one vibration to another. One person can have an amazing effect on us, simply by entering our space.  We are all energy – our thoughts, our actions and our emotions. We are vibrating in a way that affects others, and everything around us. We manifest our energy just through presence, but also in what we think, what we say and what we do. Our tone of voice. Our intentions. Our desires. Our level of love or anger. We create a force field around ourselves that emanates a wavelength, which is a reflection of our level of consciousness. Picture that you are a wave of energy vibrating along at whatever level you have chose...

Whether New Business Pitch, Job Interview or Networking, Strategically Prepare to Meet the Jury

Image
A Guest Post on Strategic Preparedness by Rory Kelly Connor You’ve been there. You did the upfront work to get their attention. You created a powerful resume or marketing materials or a market presence that made them take you seriously. You scored that new business pitch meeting, job interview, or networking opp that you seriously wanted. The potential client or employer or contact is now your target audience. You then begin to strategically prepare – the talking points, key messages, questions, wardrobe, presentation, pitch. Hours are spent on strategy, with the goal of getting to “yes.” You do your research to learn about the company or product or marketplace. You get the goods on the competition. You powerfully plan and create amazing new ways of supporting their goals. You are set on proving to them that you not only “get them,” but you are what they need. You build your strategic interview script or presentation deck focused on selling them in to not only wanting t...
