Beyond Goodbye- A Book on Simultaneous, Sympathetic Death

Image
Simultaneous, Sympathetic Death Mother’s dying symptoms experienced unexpectedly 5000 miles away In England, American counsellor and author, Annie Cap was unexpectedly overcome by the symptoms of her dying mother. In her final moments of life, Betty, in a hospital in Portland, Oregon, somehow managed to connect with her daughter overseas. At work, Annie suddenly began to choke. Coughing uncontrollably and finding it difficult to breathe she was forced to ask her client to leave. She telephoned her mother’s hospital room and when her sister answered she could hear her mother’s laboured breathing in the background. Although Annie didn’t understand what was going on, she realized immediately what had just happened – her mother had mysteriously linked in with her (attempting to reach her one last time perhaps) and had caused Annie to feel her dying symptoms. This led Cap on a trail of exploration, to not only understand how it was possible that she had shared in her mother’s...

Dr Daisaku Ikeda-People Who Have Inspired Me V

Image
“As human beings we clearly remember what we have done for others, but we tend to forget easily what others have done for us. When you try to become the kind of person who never forgets the favors extended to you by others you will deepen and expand your capacity as a human being.” Dr Daisaku Ikeda We all are struggling and suffering in our unique ways, though we can always look at them as opportunities for learning and growth. Thanks to  Sensei (teacher) Ikeda my attitude towards suffering has changed. He says, “No matter where we go, we cannot escape from the sufferings that are part and parcel of life. If we cannot avoid these sufferings, then our only choice is to overcome them. And since we have no choice but to overcome them, then we might as well live joyfully and vigorously while doing so.” 2007 was a landmark year in my life as I was introduced to Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism and found my mentor Dr Daisaku Ikeda, Soka Gakkai International, Japan The foundation of perma...

Leading with Purpose

Image
What is the purpose of business? How does a leader contribute to the purpose of the organization? These are two very critical questions and the answers are not easy. How narrow or broad the purpose of the leader is, equally narrow or broad is the purpose of the organization which he/she leads. Helene Ploix, CMD, Pechel Industries and Pechel Industries Partenaires, France says, “I think the purpose of the business is to create wealth to the company and to create wealth for a larger number of people without harming the others. This should not be done just for yourself or for a few others, such as managers or owners. I think that the purpose of my own organization and for business in general is creating wealth for the largest number of people-to contribute.” An organization is nothing but a group of people with defined roles and structures. To bring out the peak potential of the organization, the peak potential of each individual member of the organization must be harnessed. If the ...

How I Created Internationally Popular Blog in just Six Months?

Image
"Blogging is like Sex. You can't fake it. You can't fake passion. You can't fake wanting to engage with public." Kevin Anderson.   In last week of December 2010, I started my Blog “The Joys of Teaching” and posted one article only in 2010. The series initially began with my experiences as a teacher. Later on I added some posts on life skills which I found lacking in few of my students. The Blog has 200 posts now, which make it an average of 20 Blogs per month (five per week including guest blogs). I became a teacher due to my passion for teaching and the blog only reflected my passion. For the first 3 months I wrote all the posts but connected extensively on Linkedin internationally. Slowly well known people from all corners of the world, started showing interest in submitting guest posts. I may have personally moved towards the joys of coaching and consulting but the blog shall always remain my first love, the joys of teaching. Then I started with a serie...
